CLOTHES SHOW - BIRMINGHAM
Each year the college will partake in setting up numerous displays at local events to help promote courses and college facilities. One of the expectations of my role was to support these events providing graphics, photography filming and building of displays. Here’s a few pictures of my work from the clothes show.
Samsung Digital Service Academy
In a bid to secure the Samsung digital service academy, we had to create a pitch to illustrate what the investment within the college could look like. Working with a very talented student in Autodesk Maya to develop the visuals of the room and the estates manager we were able to create a wining pitch.
Series of mini interviews
The college would often host shows through out the year to showcase student work, promote courses and training. To support these shows we built relationships with local suppliers to obtain items. To support these relationships we would often support businesses with design, photography and filmmaking here’s a few screen shots from mini interviews we conducted.
Zone MAP
Zone map from a small exhibition created to promote the games and media department at Birminghams Metropolitan Colleges, James Watt Campus.
PIN
Pin eventually became the college’s platform for hosting BMET’s fashion shows. To launch Pin a large fashion show was setup at Birmingham’s millennium point. As a takeaway from the event we created gift bags with giveaway items and a dvd with show reel, photo shoot and teaser movies.
FEED
Feed was the college’s platform for bridging the gap between education and industry. Uniting students of creative and performing arts with industry professionals. It’s a platform for talks, shows and collaborations. I supported many Feed projects in my time at the college but the two activities I most enjoyed helping out with was the quarterly magazine and the industry talk events.
RSC | Market Research video
In supporting the college’s relationship with the Royal Shakespeare Company we took on a brief to conduct a Market Research video. The RSC were interested in how they could engage better with young adults. So my colleagues and I produced a short market research film asking students aged between 16 to 25 their thoughts and opinions on questions provided to us by the RSC.
Wall ART
Each Year during the summer holidays the Creative and Performing Arts department would have a clear out, removing old displays. creating and installing new ones. Working with the Head of graphics and multimedia department we would create new wall art and graphic displays to install throughout the college.
Christmas card COMPETITION
Christmas is a brilliant time for creativity and a little competition,This was the year my entry took the trophy.
Welcome tv display - Motion Graphics
The Creative and Performing Arts department would often support other departments throughout the college. Especially when companies were investing in college facilities. To support the colleges plumbing and heating department I was asked to create a simple welcome display to be used at an event within the college. This simple display job ended up securing me a new role working for Baxi Heating UK.
