about me
If your reading this page, I’m going to assume you’re a fellow creator somewhere in the world, curious about my work. Or may be you represent a company or an organisation and you’re looking for support with your video project.
In either case, I’d like use this opportunity to tell you a little about, me, what I do for a living, my work history and my plans for the future.

I’m 33 years old, I have two daughters. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with family, watching NETFLIX and YouTube. walking, cycling and running.
I love photography and filmmaking, its not just a job so I enjoy trying out new stuff and work on small projects in my free time.
I’ve always considered myself fortunate, to work creatively and earn a living doing so, I’m really grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given.

I’m a content producer, but it wouldn’t inappropriate to call me videographer or a commercial filmmaker.
My work, is all about video content marketing and the purpose is to create engaging, informative content that drives revenue, reduces costs and increases brand awareness.
I work alone, most of the time during a project. So I’m use to taking the lead in all aspects of production.
After we’ve identified an audience, I like to work out a strategy and develop a plan. Ideas tend to flow easier and make more sense.
When I have a strategy, and a plan, I like to present the concept and ideas to stakeholders and marketing teams. Get feedback and make any necessary refinements.
When every ones on-board, continue with script writing, storyboarding and organising shoots.
During a shoot, I set up all my own lighting and sound, I operate the camera, direct the talent, tend to the location and make sure everything looks right.
After the shoot, I’ll edit the video, colour grade and do any VFX or Motion Graphics work.
Its important to manage expectations during a project, Report back to teams and communicate progress, It helps keep momentum going.
Its not uncommon to receive work outside of the plan, It’s nice when you get a brief but even when there’s an urgent demand, good communication can help keep things running smoothly.
To be a good content producer you have to be fearless when it comes to absorbing responsibility, You’ve got to be able to think fast, stay cool under pressure and enjoy a bit of hard work.
But it’s a very creative and satisfying role when projects come together and audiences engage with your work.

My career began in 2005, When I began working for Birmingham Metropolitan College as a facilitator for the Creative and Performing Arts Department.
It was a great opportunity that allowed me to learn new skills, practice my trade and share my knowledge with others.
Six years later I left BMETC to join Baxi Heating UK and take on my first video content production role working as a Media Officer.
On paper the job was simple ‘produce video content’. But the opportunity of working for Baxi enabled me to learn and do so much more.
I built programs of content for social media, websites and the Baxi tool belt app.
These activities lead to significantly improved engagement across social and digital channels, more happy customers attending training and more sales.
I also build videos to:
• Improve and reduce the cost of internal training.
• Communicate business news.
• Raise awareness,
• Document business events and milestones.
• Capture Market Research.

And even demonstrate new concepts to support business improvement projects.
During my time working for Baxi I produced over 800 videos, & increased video production by nearly 56% over a three year period,
Success didn’t just happen over night. We had to develop a vision for what we wanted to achieve, set goals, monitor progress and develop with time.
In 2019 I left Baxi to join Hubken Group a Learning Management System provider based in Telford.
It was a big change moving to a small, family run business. But you can’t truly say you’ve seen it all, until you’ve made the trip.
Understanding how smaller companies work was an important step in my own personal development, plus a great opportunity to take on a new challenge.
My primary duty is the production of video content to include,
• Training & How to videos.
• Product Demonstrations
• Explainers and videos for social media.

Approximately 70 videos were made pre pandemic and many more planned, so it’s been a good first year working for Hubken Group.

All I really want to do is create more great content and continue supporting businesses developing their video presence online.
My own personal goals while doing this, is to keep developing my skills so I can produce even better looking content.
& keep exploring new creative trends, to see what else I can bring to my creative game as a content producer.
