This project was designed to bring the classroom to installers, wherever they are. A collection of short 2 minute videos on a range of topics to include: servicing, maintenance, installation and repairs. The videos would then be shared on Baxi's social media channels, website and the BAXI Tool Belt app.
The project was a huge success, improving footfall to Baxi Training centres, Engagement in courses
Specialist Training for Baxi Approved Installers
To support Baxi Approved Installers, we created specialist-training courses only Approved Installers could attend. One of the focuses of the course was Health & Safety training. After classroom activities and some hands on training, installers were invited to join us in a ‘Kahoot’ and battle with their classmates to answer as many questions as possible within a limited time. Before joining the Kahoot installers would watch a short video that served as their introduction and briefing to the task ahead.
Following the events of our fictional character Ted Breaker they would answer questions on what Ted should do next. Each question was presented in video form, before installers answered quiz questions using their phones. At the end of the game a league table was presented to show the results.
Internal Communication Work
Video proved itself to be an effective form of communication for both external and internal use. It became ‘the way’ to communicate and document just about everything you could think of. From internal briefings, training, business news, market research, presenting ideas documenting cause an effects, capturing momentous occasions and more. This playlist contains just a few of the things we used video for internally at Baxi.
Sales Conference
Training plays a key role in supporting sales teams throughout the business. It’s a key performance indicator measured in many different ways so it was essential we took the opportunity to make an impact at the national sales conference.
We were assigned the task of co-ordinating a break out session. It was important that we used the session to deliver 8 key messages regarding our business activities. One of the activities we created to help translate our messages was our very own BAXI generation game.
After a short video introduction to the game, teams watched a conveyor belt littered with objects regarding training and marketing activities. Each team member then had 15 seconds to repeat as many things from the conveyor belt as possible. All the contestants were filmed, then a reel of the occasion was edited and sent out to the sales teams to serve as a takeaway of the event.
XPO
XPO is the businesses platform for celebrating, raising awareness and driving Baxi’s innovation value.Each year the company hosts an XPO event and employee’s throughout the BAXI group, heating and technology industry are invited to attend a conference to celebrate innovation, take part in workshops, hear guest speakers and network.
In conjunction with the conference awards are presented to celebrate innovation. The event is documented within a short showreeel of the day, talks and the award ceremony are filmed to be shared after the event.
Government & Boiler Legislation
Government legislation and building regulations are key to driving industries forward safely and responsibly. Changes in legislation can often mean manufacturers must develop and improve products and services. This creates a demand for training, firstly to understand the changes and the effects, secondly to up skill, understand new technologies, practices and how to implement them.
‘Boiler Plus’ was one of the biggest changes to industry I personally experienced while working at Baxi. To reach all our customers it was decided we needed a strong digital approach. The following videos were created to support training requirements, promote our product offerings and raise awareness to the changes.
Features & Benefits
When launching a new product its important to communicate all the features. It’s also important to explain how these features will have a positive effect to your customer’s life so they truly understand the benefits to choosing your offering over your competitors. On a product that is brought on a ‘need’ basis this is even more important. This playlist consists of Feature and Benefit videos created to support the launch of the Baxi 200 & 400 heat only boiler.
Training & How to
After launching a new product its important customers have access to learning resources to help them install, service and maintain products for years to follow. To help do this we produced comprehensive catalogues of online video support available through the Baxi tool belt app and Baxi works website. This ensures no matter what difficulties a customer maybe facing with a device support is always available. Instilling confidence with the customer the product and the brand.
